Where There Is Wonder There Is Praise

I read this quote somewhere last week, "where there is wonder there is praise".

It rings true.

It's been sticking with me, and just a few days ago I read it again:

Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds!
   So great is your power
that your enemies cringe before you.
All the earth bows down to you;
   they sing praise to you,
they sing praise to your name."

Come and see what God has done,
how awesome his works in man's behalf!
He turned the sea into dry land,
they passed through the waters on foot—
come, let us rejoice in him.
       ~ Psalm 66:3-6

When we recognize the greatness of our God, even if we can't comprehend it, we respond with praise.

There are so many things that remind us of how awesome God is: the Truth we read in Scripture, the gift of a Godly spouse and a wonderful marriage, answered prayers even if just for patience in the in between, the complexity and beauty of His creation . . . sunlight . . .

Sometimes I all too easily get caught up in the "how" and "what" of the Christian life, and what does it look like to be a Christ follower two-thousand years later? What does it look like to be a young wife, learning to care for a home and be a Godly helper to her husband, and serving Christ?

Perhaps it's simply a habit of being awe-struck by God and letting that override every legalistic to-do, every well-intentioned suggestion, and every one of your own ideas.

Because where there is wonder there is {a life of worship}.
