Wide

start ~

What comes to mind is the opposite of wide, the opposite of all-encompassing, broad, general.

I think of love between one man and one woman, love that is in a way narrow because it is exclusive.

Growing up, I saw this love between my parents . . . covenant love for each other, and none other, through the good and bad, through raising and schooling six children, through chaos and forgiveness.

Now, I know this love from my husband, hear "I pick you" whispered. And I whisper back, understanding the deep knowledge of loving him and only him for as long as we both shall live.
