Growing up in a big family, allowed to be honest-to-goodness kids . . . dirt and scrapes and bruises and squabbles and backyard adventures and joy.

Half-jokingly squealing "eww" every time our parents kissed because we had no realization all parents weren't the same as ours.

Church and a Christian worldview and the importance of whole-hearted Christ-following.

Some things never quite outgrown . . . chaos, gathering around the big diningroom table, piles of dishes, board games, sporadic selfishness, forgiveness.

Never needing to look beyond the four walls called home to find love.

It's easy to take normal for granted.
