I was feeling unnerved, overwhelmed, tired. But how thankful I was, yet again, for the opportunity I have every week to spend time with my junior high girls' small group . . . those ridiculously smiley, energetic sixth graders.

How blessed I was to hear their sweet, innocent prayer requests, and then quiet voices praying around the circle for each other, as wholeheartedly about "doing good" in school and for patience and for "making it through" really tough family situations, as for cats and birthdays and deer hunting.

Oh, what a reminder in those moments, encircled by childlike faith, that there is nothing too small or "not spiritual enough" to bring before the Father.
